About the Seal:
The School’s seal was designed to reflect the central ideas that defined Pavel Florensky’s life and teachings.
| The three yellow stars represent the three hypostatis of the Trinity, the Father being a larger star at the top of the triangle to convey the Eastern Christian emphasis on the monarchy of the Father. The stars are also arranged in a way that is reminiscent of the icon of the Trinity (The hospitality of Abraham) of Andrei Rublev. With this in mind, the heptagon represents the realm of the uncreated divine life. It can be seen as a symbol of the “table of the Lord”, the “seven spirits that stand around the throne” or indeed of the divine wisdom. |

The blue theme is inspired by the fact that Pavel Florensky had given specific instructions that the cover of his “Pillar and Foundation of Truth” should be in a specific color of blue, in honor of the Theotokos.
The Omega is a reminder of the identity of Christ as our "God and Savior" (John 20:28), Alpha and Omega, victorious through the power of the cross.
Finally, the lines that radiate from the divine life and specifically from the Son and the Spirit echo the inverted perspective of Orthodox icons, a topic discussed at length by Fr. Pavel in his writings. They represent God’s pre-eternal calling and foreknowledge which is experienced in the liturgical life of the Church and which passes though own sharing in the cross of Christ.
The School’s motto is that of the Euclid Consortium: "Audi et alteram partem", which means "Let us also hear the other side". This conveys the School’s commitment to an open minded and dialectical approach to learning.
